Jupiter, the god of rain, thunder, and lightning, had two older brothers, Neptune and Pluto. When their father Saturn died they split up the world between themselves; Neptune getting the seas, Pluto getting the Earth, and Jupiter getting the skies. Jupiter eventually took over the throne and took it for himself becoming the King of the Gods. Jupiter is worshipped in a temple on Capitoline Hill, which is dedicated to him.
Jupiter has a total of five siblings; Neptune, Pluto, Juno, Ceres, and Vesta. Jupiter tricked Juno and then forced her to marry him. He had two children with Juno, Mars and Vulcan, and one child with Ceres, Proserpina. Jupiter also had many affairs with other woman, which made Juno very jealous. In the Council of Thirteen Jupiter fathered Mars, Vulcan, twins Diana and Apollo, Venus, Minerva, Mercury, and Bacchus, all of the gods that aren't his siblings. Minerva is his odd child though, for she sprung fully grown and in battle armor out of the top of Jupiter's head. He also gifted two of his daughters to other men; Venus to Vulcan and Proserpina to Pluto. As you can tell, Jupiter was a very odd man, yet he was extremely powerful.
Jupiter's symbol is the thunderbolt. Also, his main weapon is the thunderbolt which he uses to create storms when he is angry. Jupiter's thunderbolt is the most powerful weapon of all of the gods and it is very dangerous. The animal that is sacred to Jupiter is the eagle and it is a symbol of power.
