Apollo was the god of healing, music, poetry, prophecy, and the sun. His main job is to get on his chariot drawn by four horses and drive the sun across the sky. Apollo's most prized possession is his golden lyre and when he plays it it can put spell on things with its magical powers. Animals that are sacred to Apollo are deer, swans, cicadas, hawks, ravens crows, foxes, mice, and snakes.
Apollo and his twin sister, Artemis, are children of Zeus and Leto, a mortal woman who lived on farm outside of Athens. Artemis and Apollo are alike and are opposites. (see table below) Apollo and Artemis get into many fights with each other, sometimes causing wars among the mortals. His half siblings are Ares, Hephaestus, Athena, Hermes, Aphrodite, and Dionysus
